Love my new undershirt
In days of yore I used to just wear cheap and thick cotton vests from the high street. Nothing wrong with that of course but modern layering needs to be properly controlled hence the first layer is better if it’s thin, but still strong and breathable. My new undershirt achieves exactly that. Very happy and will buy again.

A high quality undershirt that fits for purpose
I have been looking for a good quality undershirt that can contain my son's super sweaty armpits :D (sorry son). I'm just fed up with the extra effort that I have to put every time I wash his shirts, it's not helping his favourite colour is white. I found the website by accident and I'm happy that I found it as the product is just what he needs. It's comfortable and effectively keeping his sweat under control. Great, but I have a suggestion
I've bought a few undershirts from Robert Owen and they're always great quality, good value and delivered on time. However, if I could make one suggestion it would be to create a third type of neckline which was a v-neck but not as deep as the existing one. The problem I have is that I work an open neck formal shirt for work. If I wear the round neck undershirt, the undershirt's collar can be seen where my shirt is unbuttoned. If I wear the v-neck undershirt, the neckline can be clearly seen through most of my shirts (their outline, at least). What I could do with a v-neck just deep enough that the undershirt's collar wasn't visible at all because it was directly under my over shirt's collar and top button.

Having hit my 40s my back seems to have developed the need to sweat which has made me anxious about it being visible through work shirts and t shirts. Having tried a number of vests I came across these undershirts. They’re brilliant. Found it easy to order and delivery was great. Quality seems good,haven't been used yet so cannot comment on their effectiveness. Only problem found are sleeves are too long for wearing short-sleeved tops. I will have to shorten them before they can be worn. i purchased one and tried a few times at work in warmer weather to see if it a) worked and b) would help me attending a wedding in Spain. i am not one for reviews to be honest but i was so impressed. i am not saying it stopped me sweating it more made it feel far less and instead of being patchy i would say it more felt like it spread it throughout the t-shirt and i had next to no patches and it was 30+ degrees.

Having been looking for an undershirt that suited my requirements for some time, I was delighted to find Robert Owen Undershirts. I wanted an undershirt, rather than a vest, that I could wear with either a long sleeved or short sleeved shirt, that didn’t show with the top buttons undone. Additionally I wanted a good quality product. Robert Owen Undershirts ticked both boxes and on top of that the standard of service was first class. I originally bought 5 of the V neck Chester undershirts in white. I was so pleased with them I ordered an additional 5 of the Oxford Underarm Shield. Unfortunately, on delivery I discovered that the sleeve is longer and can show at the end of the sleeve with short sleeved shirts. So I contacted Yvonne at Robert Owen and explained that I wanted to swap 3 unopened shirts for the shorter sleeved Chester undershirts. I could not have had better attention to my request and the shirts were swapped without any trouble at all. Thank you Yvonne and Robert Owen Undershirts

These undershirts are like a second skin and like no other. A snug fit they do not move and I am all but unaware I am wearing one such is the comfort. I’ve been searching for some undershirts for a while but wanted some that didn’t make me sweat as I tend to be very hot in formal shirts. I should mention I do buy good quality cotton formal shirts and even then I am too hot wearing them.Having worn some bamboo cotton underwear and socks I could feel I wasn’t getting sweaty wearing them as I did in my old ones which weren’t bamboo cotton. Having done some research bamboo cotton allows the skin to breathe and adjusts to your body temperature keeping you at a stable temperature in hot and cold weather.Anyway I figured bamboo undershirts might solve my problem of not sweating in my formal shirts which I did even without an undershirt. So I stumbled across Robert Owen Undershirts and looked into the company. I looked at your products and reviews and I was really impressed, the review from the funeral director was extremely helpful and I can now say after a couple of weeks that he was right the undershirts are extremely comfortable and allow your skin to breathe and you don’t sweat or feel claggy wearing formal clothes.Your undershirts are a real lifesaver and top quality! I’m really impressed and super comfortable wearing them. I will definitely be buying more!As a last note I always try to buy British and although the material is imported from China, there’s no avoiding that as China is the only country to my knowledge that manufacture bamboo cotton but Robert Owen Undershirts is a British company and they make the shirts here. The best undershirts
This is the second set of undershirts I have bought from Robert Owen. I am a funeral director so I am out in formal attire in all weathers and they are essential kit for me. Comfortable, does it what it says on the tin with no bs! Wore this to a wedding in Athens in mid-September, zero sweat on shirt and pretty comfortable too! Didn’t even wear antiperspirant (just wore deodorant). One thing I’d like to point out: I bought this undershirt alongside another, similar one from Amazon, both with three-layer underarm areas, but the Robert Owen one is better for a few reasons. The main one being that the middle layer they use in the three-layer underarm area is breathable (also bamboo?) whereas the Amazon one is polyester or some other synthetic material, which is not breathable.

I was a bit apprehensive about the price, but the undershirts are very comfortable and seem to be well made. Time will tell how they hold up against multiple washes. They're a little thicker than I was expecting and I'm not sure if they'll be too warm for the summer (only reason for not giving 5 stars) but then again I'm comparing them to the synthetic undershirts I have worn previously. Got sick of the synthetic material trapping body odour - no such problem with these. I'll be back for more when needed as I haven't found anything of similar quality on the market.

I've bought three of these undershirts now, all from the "Made too small" range and they've all fit very comfortably. These shirts do exactly what I was hoping - I can wear them under my good shirts to prevent sweat patches appearing in the armpits! The undershirts are very lightweight and thin so I don't find I get too hot wearing them, and, depending on the shirt being worn over the top, the undershirts are mostly invisible.

Well what can I say… WOW WOW WOW!
Well what can I say… WOW WOW WOW! I have an extreme problem with underarm sweating. I could not find a solution anywhere. I tried underarm pads and they just kept slipping down my body because of the sweat! So I went back into google to try once again to find a solution for myself. That’s when I came across Robert Owen. I read some of the reviews and thought I would take a chance and place an order. They had a deal on so I ordered five undershirts. I was starting a new job the following Monday and knew the sweat issue world certainly raise its head! Also I was so fed up of buying really nice shirts and having them ruined with underarm sweat over time. Anyway the undershirts arrived very quickly. I live in the Highlands of Scotland so wasn’t expecting such a quick dispatch. When I opened the package there was a hand written note from Yvonne thanking me for my business which was a really nice touch. So fast forward to my first week in the new office, nerves we’re running wild and so was the sweat or so I thought….. I went for a coffee break around 10am by this time I had the undershirt on for 2 hours and knew for a fact I would have the dreaded underarm sweat patches on my brand new shirt - but NO! Not a sweat patch to be seen!! I couldn’t believe it, I was in complete disbelief. My confidence immediately shot up! I had finally conquered this awful sweat problem that’s plagued me for years! I didn’t want to write a review straight away so I am now a few weeks down the line and I can confirm these undershirts have not let me down once! Infact I have so much confidence in them now I don’t even go to the bathroom to check if there is any sign of wetness under my arms. Absolutely outstanding work by these guys. Please keep up the good work. P.S. I am writing this review on a plane journey to Italy and guess what I am a nervous flyer (who knew!) haha. Anyway I can report my underarms are 100% dry!!! A great buy!
I've worn other vests (from typical high street stores) for years under my work shirts to prolong their life and improve my daily comfort. They worked quite well, but I can't say they were anything other than acceptable. Needing to replace some which had seen better days I thought I'd see if there was anything else out there that may be better, and I stumbled upon this site. Liked what I saw (and the thought of supporting a home grown business) and thought I will give them a go. Wasn't sure of the best fit for my size, I'm the wrong side of 40, just short of 6ft4, slim with a 34(ish) waist but with quite broad shoulders from my many years of swimming in my younger days. Pretty much exactly on a 44 inch chest, I emailed a question on what they thought would fit best and got a lovely reply from Yvonne who said I'd probably be ok in the XL but that at worst they would be able to refund/exchange if it didn't fit as I like.So I ordered 3 of the XLs. They arrived quickly with a personal hand written note, very impressive. The fit is definitely snug for me but not at all uncomfortable - I like the fact the vest is giving me a gentle hug. The material feels lovely on the skin and despite it being a thin layer, it really has kept me nicely warm while the weather oop north "remains somewhat chilly". I know this will sound silly, but I actually look forward to putting it on in the morning! Because of the good fit, it adds no bulk to my business shirt, which is also slim fit, and people have been commenting if I've hit the gym again and lost weight. Bonus!So, for me I'm absolutely pleased as punch with the purchase. It was worth paying that bit more for an undershirt of this quality. Invisible Shirts!
I tested the shirts on a trip to Dubai where it was 35 degrees in the shade. In my rare ventures outside of air conditioning, these shirts exceeded expectations. After a few mins waiting on a taxi in the humidity, the sweating soon started. Whereas normally, I would have embarrassing patches on my shirt for the next hour or two, almost nothing escaped. I was mistkanely sent the wrong colour initially but Yvonne (who was quick to respond on email) dispatched the right colour immediately at no extra cost. Truly excellent customer service on top of an already good product. These undershirts are extremely soft and wicking without feeling stifling. The bamboo fibre makes a noticiable difference and the deep V means the undershirt is indeed disguised underneath a shirt even with two buttons undone. I bought one of the V-neck undershirts to try a month or so ago and was so impressed I bought another three fairly quickly afterwards. They are really excellent as a product - do exactly what they say in keeping me warm and comfortable all day. Have to give kudos for the service too - I mistakenly ordered the wrong size for a couple of undershirts on my second order, but Robert Owen picked this up, connecting my two orders and coming back to me to check whether I'd made a mistake and offering to correct it before sending them out. Perhaps this is not uncommon (and therefore potentially worth a fix on the web) but the fact that it was spotted and sorted was well above and beyond expectation - and a real difference compared to so many other brands/websites.

The experience of buying my undershirt was quick and hassle free. I've always run hot and struggle with sweat when wearing dress shirts so thought I'd give this garment a go. It's really well made an invisible under the shirt. However, if like me you are just a hot person anyway this is just going to make you hotter. No fault of the garment - but it's not the silver bullet I was hoping for. It does hide the sweat, which is it's USP, but it sadly makes me sweat more due to the nature of my unique body. That said, it will get outings in the winter months as a descreet base layer.

I bought this undershirt for a funeral and after a full day in 33+ heat in a suit my dress shirt was completely dry which surpassed my expectations of what the undershirt could do. Shirts are usually too long for me and this is no exception but the material is so light I didn’t notice it at all. The material feels nice and I feel tightly wrapped but very comfortable. Haven't been too hot which is good and no itchy skin, again good as I can be quite itcht with some material. Not pretty but feels wonderful
My new undershirts really do meet expectations. They feel wonderful, fit very well and do what they claim to do. They are just ten times better than my old M&S vests. Will be buying more. It is by far the best undershirt I have found, having also bought many over the years for my husband.The material is super soft, and the fit is very close, meaning it doesn’t bunch up. A review from a small(er) man
First of all, you get what you pay for here - excellent quality product, fast shipping and well packaged. The included handwritten note was a nice touch. I took a bit of a gamble here as I'm smaller than average (5'5, 34 chest) but the small size still fits me well around the arms/shoulders and doesn't bunch up around the waist, it's just not as tightly fit as in the pictures. As others have said, it is longer than expected but I'd rather that than it being too short!Overall, this is the first undershirt I've bought and I'm glad I did, I'm more comfortable on warmer days and don't have to carry a jumper with me as often on cooler days :)

I knew it was a risk but I’m glad I took it. Having seen references on an American site to “undershirts” I thought it was just a foreign word for “vest”. In a way it is. There’s a first time for everything!
I’ve always been of the frame of mind that ‘a tee-shirt will do’ when I have needed to wear something under a shirt or top. But with lockdown allowing me to change up the wardrobe, I wanted to try something different to eliminate the lines a normal tee-shirt leaves. Looked around a lot for something suitable and settled on Robert Owen where I bought a couple of crews and a v-neck. Delivery was excellent (48 hours) and putting on the undershirts feels very, very different to a tee-shirt (they are luxurious!) and they’re virtually invisible under the thin sweaters I have...which was the main purpose for buying. Like the ‘nude/skin’ colour, rather than white. Clearly can’t comment on wear/tear but at the moment, the experience has been great all around and I would recommend.

Very Comfortable
I bought one of these primarily to try under a shirt and jacket whilst working indoors in a cooler environment than usual due to the need for more ventilation during the pandemic. I really liked the garment and bought a second to enable a change each day. I have found them to be very comfortable and they take the edge off the cold. They are ideal for cooler days but when a warmer layer such as merino may be too much. I was keen to know that they don't hold or magnify odour as some other fibres do. They are an excellent length and the colour does not show under a shirt. I will certainly be interested to see how they perform in hot conditions in keeping one cooler and preventing sweat rings though those days are a while off yet! I am only sorry that I didn't buy 3 in the first instance to get the full discount.

Product worked exactly as promised
I decided to purchase an undershirt because I found myself increasingly sweating in the office and feeling embarrassed by the patches. I also try to avoid the extremely chemical anti perspirants. I got my first under shirt and wore it under my button shirts. The micro modal material is extremely light and breathable so I don't feel like it makes me too hot, but the extra padding absorbs any sweat that is generated. My only minor feedback would be that the arms are quite long, I wear short sleeve shirts so have to roll up the sleeves a little so the undershirt can't be seen, but this is not a huge issue. After trying one shirt, I came back bad ordered 3 more, so now I have one for every day of the week that I wear a shirt in the office.

I bought the undershirt to wear under my work shirts (I work in the Middle East). My main goal was to manage the temperature changes experienced when moving from a hot outdoor to an air conditioned office environment; something that usually results in me looking like I just showered - with my shirt on. These undershirts really help manage the problem. They are well made from stretchy fabric, so fit almost invisibly under most shirts, with the V-neck leaving no undershirt showing at an open collar. Their absorbent fabric works well to absorb moisture, virtually eliminating any perspiration soaking into my work shirts. They are not overly hot when outdoors, and in addition to absorbing moisture they also keep me comfortable in what can often be quite chilly air conditioned offices. Highly recommended. If you are moving between hot outdoor and cool air conditioned environments you should get one - you will not regret it. Delivery was very quick, and service excellent.

Life-changing!
As a somewhat fat bloke, I tend to sweat a bit under the boobs. Not attractive, but there you go. I've always worn t-shirts under my shirt or worse (gasp!) a vest, only to provide a barrier layer so I didn't sweat through my shirts. But I've never liked how they looked, particularly under a white shirt.That's all changed with these undershirts. The lavender grey shirt is undetectable under a white shirt and does a great job of keeping me dry. Its thin material doesn't really feel like an extra layer, though I can imagine it adding some warmth in winter, it doesn't make me too hot in summer.I liked the first one so much, that after just one day of wearing it I bought two more the next day - can't recommend highly enough. Good as usual. You asked about packaging. I can understand that first time you get one opening shiny package is in some way part of the experience, like when you open a new iPad. Now I just want the shirt and I am not worried about packaging at all, in fact I have forgotten it was shiny. So I am no disappointed, might not be same for all. Blue is a new one for me. I think it does show through a white shirt to some extent, where some say it blurs the image of an undershirt so that you don't see the undershirt sleeve ends. Anyway, no worries as many of my formal shirts are blue or coloured. I have become so used to these shirts that I feel nervous about showing sweat without them, especially on front and back, less so under arms. Strange how our grand parents wore vests and we didn't....and now do...

In the winter months I've been struggling to keep warm without an obscene amount of layers and looking like a balloon. These undershirts (I've gone with primarily long sleeves) are a very snug fit and come with a gentle touch. Not overtly thick.. if you like to put vests on underneath your shirt when you go to work you get the problem of creases and maybe a bit of fabric poking out for everyone to see, whilst not a really problem in reality but it helps to keep yourself looking tidy in a professional environment. Cut down product range scrap the crew necks and short sleeves they make the business seem catering to non-professionals.Also maybe make some undergarments such as long-johns.Improve quality and keep price point the same.I might have to return 2 of the items as I’m not completely satisfied and if I paid a lot less I wouldn’t feel the need to. However if you made sleeves slightly shorter, sorted the V neck ribbing (MOST IMPORTANT) and possibly offered extra shades I would be happy to pay the price for something I can’t quite get anywhere else. Able to cycle between home/stations/work with backpack on and sign of sweaty shirt back or pits. I would say that MicroModal undershirt is noticeably lighter and thinner than bamboo version, it feels great against the skin and like bamboo has good amount of stretch. Overall i'm very pleased. I also appreciate very quick international delivery.

The only downside to me is that my skin color is rather dark for the undershirts to be invisible, it is still a big contrast (but I am darker than most people I know). What blew me off completely is the attention to detail when it comes to packaging and sending. I've got an email asking if my phone number was correct (I made a stupid mistake and it wasn't, so we corrected it together). The package was wrapped in a nice gift paper and it even contained a handwritten letter from Robert Owen which made me smile and appreciate the effort given into making all of this happen. Yes, handwritten! A rare find these days.
